Artist Statement

I am a non-commercial visual artist living in Boise, Idaho. Yes, you read that right. A non-commercial visual artist! I’m fortunate to be able to create art simply for the enjoyment of creating.

As a passionate believer in life-long learning, I am constantly on the search for additional techniques to experience. In addition to using those techniques in my art, I enjoy passing them on to others thorough teaching classes or one-on-one instruction.

My interests are varied: photography, printmaking, book arts, mold-making and resin casting. One theme that is present through them all is nature. I’m interested in the natural world and our relationship to it. It’s difficult for me to go on power walks because I’m busy gathering or photographing nature’s bits and bobs to study or incorporate into my art.
